The Example

Posted on Dec 7th, 2007 by Robby : Robby Barbaro Robby

I can’t believe it has been over a month since I made a postTime really does fly when your having fun!

It’s been about a year since I started living the 80/10/10 lifestyle.  I wish I could give this information to every single person I meet and show them their unlimited potential, but after a year I have learned that most people aren’t ready, willing or able to step into the fullness of their potential.

So, all I can do is be The Example.  I’m not going to make any promises, but maybe I will start to post what I am eating on a more frequent basis.

I eat two meals a day for optimal digestion and optimal performance in my morning workout.  Through experience I have found that I perform my best when my system is not trying to digest food while I am trying to use every ounce of energy I have for my workout.  Our bodies have a limited amount of energy.  Where do you get your energy?

Well, what do you do when you get tired?  You go to sleep (people also consume stimulants, but that’s another story). What happens when you wake up? You have energy again. Crazy, eh?  Food provides fuel and sleep/rest provides energy.

Meal 1
Organic Bananas – 1674g – 3.7 lbs – 382 carbs – 1490 cal
Organic Halawi Dates – 218g - .5lbs – 163 carbs – 604 cal
Meal Total - 545 carbs – 2094 cal

Meal 2
Organic Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice – 48oz. - 155 carbs – 670 cal
Organic Raspberries – 422g - .9lbs – 97 carbs – 422 cal
Organic Boston Lettuce – 684g – 1.5lbs – 15 carbs – 90 cal
Organic Romain Lettuce – 260g - .6lbs – 9 carbs – 44 cal
Meal Total - 276 carbs – 1226 cal

Daily Totals - 821 carbs – 3319 cal
Protein 55g
Carbs/Protein/Fat - 90/6/4
Percent of Calories consumed form greens - 4%  (44+90 divided by 3319)

***********The 80/10/10 Diet requires 2-6% of calories to come from greens.  Most peole aren't doing that and say they are following the program (it does take some time to be able to eat 1.5-2+ lbs of greens in one sitting).  It is painful to hear people say, "I tried to program and it didn't work."  Well, chances are you didn't try the program properly.

Folks, this diet is the pinacle of nutrtion. Fruits and greens are the health foods.  No program on the planet calls for more greens and more fruits, period.

******The 80/10/10 Diet calls for a MINIMUM of 80% of calories from carbohydrates and a MAXIMUM of 10% of calories from protein and fat.   Hence, my ratio will almost alwasy be similar to the 90/6/4 you see above because I do not consme overt fats (nuts, seeds, and avacoado.)

I get all my data from nutridiary.com.  If your folliwing the Standard American Diet (SAD) you probably consume at least 40% of your calories from fat.  If you don't believe me, enter the data into Nutridiary and find out for yourself.
