Watch Me Reverse "Type 1 Diabetes" Days 176-204

Posted on Jul 7th, 2007 by Robby : Robby Barbaro Robby

I apologize for my lack of posting lately.  I plan to be posting regularly starting tomorrow.  I will not have exact statistics every day, rather I will have general information on most days and exact statistics every once in awhile.

I have been eating bananas, watermelon, grapes and cantaloupe in the past 28 says that I haven’t posted.  I continue to eat romaine lettuce as well.

On a couple of the days I had fruit cups at restaurants, but 99% of the meals have been mono meals.

Watch Me Reverse "Type 1 Diabetes" Days 204-229

Ok, everyone, I guess I lied in my last post when I said I was going to start posting regularly.  I haven't checked my page views in awhile, but I just saw that 93 people saw my last post and 100 saw the one before it.

I am now inspired to post regularly, and I promise to keep my promise this time.  I guess I could start to make the blog a little more personal, which was not the original intent.  Originally I was trying to make it as factual as possilbe, so my opinons wouldn't distort the importance of what I am doing.

I'm not sure how so many people made there way to the blog, but please please tell all your friends to come and check it out.  I believe it is every persons birth right to hear this information.  If a person chooses not to apply the knowledge to thier life, that's ok, but they NEED to at least know the facts.

Here is a fact for the day.  I used to take 24 units of Lantus insulin, I now take 1 unit.  I used to take a ratio of 1 unit of humalog insulin for every 10 units of carbs consumed, that ratio is now somwhere around 1/35-40.  I haven't been measureing my food lately, but I could start doing it maybe once a week.  I have done this by eating fruits and tender greens exclusively.  When I was diagnosed the doctors told me not to consume too much sugar.  I eat between 15-20 bannanas in one meal with my blood sugar staying in perfect range and my last two A1C numbers were 5.4 and 5.3.  Something is going on eh?

Anyways, thats enough for today.  I hope all those 100 people come back and send some of their friends.

Watch Me Reverse "Type 1 Diabetes" Days 230

Posted on Jul 29th, 2007 by Robby : Robby Barbaro Robby
I'm at home, in Bradenton/Sarasota for the weekend so it's harder to do things exactly how I want.  Coming home for a weekend usually involves compromises in regards to what I spend my valuable time doing throughout the day.

I went for a nice run in the the morning and then went to a farmers market downtown with my mom.  I picked up a few dates which I haven't had in awhile.  I planned to make a banana/date smoothie, but the dates were too good to resist, so I ate them.  Then I had some papaya and cantaloupe for lunch and dinner, with romaine lettuce afterwards.

Today is Sunday, July 29th.  Nothing too exciting will get accomplished today.  I am going on a boat ride to the marina with my parents, then I will be driving for three hours to get back to school, studying and then going to bed.

I will make another post on Tuesday morning, talking about Monday, which will be more like some of the past posts so people don't have to spend a lot of time reading this.  They can just glance at it and see how I'm living.
