Blog Break

Posted on Dec 2nd, 2008 by Robby : Robby Barbaro Robby
Hey everyone,

OK, after some thinking I came up with an idea.  Instead of just being "absent" for random periods of time, I will announce my lack of blogging ahead of time.

I have a clear intention of blogging every day, 365 days a year.  Some days will be much shorter than others, but none the less, I want to make a post every day.  It's not working out very well right now.  It' all good though, it will happen.  I just need to learn to be patient with myself.

So, I probably won't have a blog post with updated screen shots until December 12th.

Hopefully this will prevent people from coming here and seeing that it isn't updated.  What I really need to do is create crystal clear tutorials on how to use RSS feeds, then you all can have my blog come to you instead of checking all the time.

All my best,

Robby

Post for LEI3832 Classmates

Posted on Dec 7th, 2008 by Robby : Robby Barbaro Robby
Hey everyone,

Currently, when people visit RobbyBarbaro.org it takes them to a blog.  Exactly what the blog is about isn’t very clear.

This blog is about my journey towards health freedom (reversing Type 1 Diabetes).

I will be the first person in the world to have been officially diagnosed as a Type 1 diabetic, taken insulin for over 7 years and then became free of insulin without the use of drugs or surgery.

Genuine healthful living can reverse pretty much every disease with few exceptions.  To name just a few of the diseases which have been successfully reversed:

  • Virtually all cancers (liver cancer being the most common exception)
  • All Cardiovascular Diseases
  • Type 2 Diabetes
  • Osteoporosis
  • Alzheimer’s
  • Parkinson’s
  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
  • Crohs-Colitis
  • etc……

If you don’t believe me, all you have to do is read a few books, and your mind will be opened up :)

Feel free to ask me questions:  RobbyBarbaro@PathOfHealth.org

All my best,

Robby

1 Exam Left!

Posted on Dec 14th, 2008 by Robby : Robby Barbaro Robby
Hey everyone,

I only have one more exam left, then the semester will have officially ended!  I have been doing a lot of stretching recently.  I believe what Active Isolated Stretching is the most effective method because of it's specificity and respect for the natural stretch reflex of humans.

I'll write more about it in the future, but you can learn a little bit on the official site for AIS stretching:

http://stretchingusa.com/

I hope you all are doing well and prepared to live healthfully throughout the holidays.

If anyone has any questions or any topics they would like me to cover, please send an email to RobbyBarbaro@PathOfHealth.org

All my best,

Robby

Don't Be Nice, Be Real

Posted on Dec 15th, 2008 by Robby : Robby Barbaro Robby
Hey everyone,

I'm reading a book titled Don't Be Nice, Be Real by Kelly Bryson.  It's hard for me to put into words how life transforming Non-Violent Communication has been for me, in regards to my own internal dialog as well as my relationships with others

I have used it a lot in every day situations, with other people, but the greatest transformation has occurred in my dialog with myself.  I have a long ways to go.  Just like health, there is no "destination" in regards to communication.  I can always improve and seek better self-awareness.

Today I want to share a little bit about perfecting selfishness.  NVC has helped me to understand that I am a Human with feelings and needs and that my needs are actually a gift to others.  I'm not needy, I'm needful.  If people didn't have needs then life would be pretty boring because we wouldn't be able to contribute to each others well being.  That's the "good stuff"  I'll write a post about the "good stuff" in the futre.

In Chapter 2, Kelly talks about perfecting our selfishness.

"Here are some mottoes to help you perfect your selfishness:

  • Me first and only, in ever situation, at all times.
  • Ask for 100% of what you want 100% of the time and be prepared to empathize with any response
  • Never listen to one more word than you want to hear from anyone
  • You never have to answer anyone's questions, because you are not on trial
  • Trust that all your needs are gifts to other people
  • Present your needs as if you were Santa Clause passing out gifts "Ho, ho, ho, you lucky dog, you get to give me a massage, if you'd like."
  • Develop the willingness to let people you love suffer (not to be confused with making them suffer).
  • Never let anyone get his/her needs met at your expense.  To do so is violence to both of you.
  • Never do anything to prevent someone from freaking out (except babies under 15 months)
  • Never give anyone the power to make you give in or rebel."
I will continue to share gems from this book as I go through it and share how it has affected my life.

Robby
