Food Consumption Update

Posted on Jan 18th, 2009 by Robby : Robby Barbaro Robby
Hey everyone,

I posted a new photo gallery with lots of meal pictures.  I haven't been making any Nutridiary screen shots lately.  I certainly plan to make more in the future, but probably won't make them forever.  Although, maybe one day I will have an assistant who will be willing to help me out with such projects:)  Or maybe a person would be willing to do it in exchange for some kind of service.  Who knows.  The possibilities are endless.

Above is a picture of my Christmas dinner on December 25th, 2008.

I think it has yellow peppers, red peppers, orange peppers, roma tomatoes, romaine lettuce, boston lettuce, bibb lettuce and passion fruit.

During exams and over the holidays I missed some meal and snack pictures, but most of them are in the photo gallery.

The main difference you will see in the gallery is that I had durian a few times and recently I have been making a lot of smoothies, which I each like soup.

My streak of rarely using a blender is over.  I'll make a post about that in the near future.

I also want to let you all know that RobbyBarbaro.org will ALWAYS take people wherever I want to send them.  Right now, it re-directs to this blog.  I'm still in the process of setting up my new blog/website.  So, if you want to tell anybody about this blog you can just tell them to visit RobbyBarbaro.org or Google my name and they will find me.

I hope you all are well and enjoying the new year!

Social Situations

Posted on Jan 20th, 2009 by Robby : Robby Barbaro Robby

Hey everyone,

I have so much to share on so many topics, I feel overwhelmed when I think about trying to put it on paper.  I just wish I could have somebody follow me around 24/7 with a  video camera and then throw the good stuff up on YouTube, LOL

Anyways, I will try to share my experiences/thoughts in regards to social situations with a host of posts on the topic.  I think it is most important to point out that what I have to share comes from a place of principles and having a certain mindset, which I am learning through my NVC studies.  Succeeding in social situations has more to do with what’s going on in my head, than the actual words that come out of my mouth.  It’s about where my consciousness is during the conversation.  If it’s not on feelings and needs, I have missed the boat.

So, it’s all about being present with my own feelings and needs first, then the feelings and needs of the people involved.

Not only is every social situation unique, but each conversation at that specific party or what ever is different.  So, back to principles which work in a dynamic universe.

Specific tip:  In my experience 99% of the people inquiring about my lifestyle are not really interested in learning, they are interested in making sure what they are doing is OK.

There is a whole host of feelings they could be feeling and they are most likely needing to know that they are still respected.  Or their need for inclusion might be threatened by me simply living a different lifestyle then them.  There is a whole host of possibilities, the point is that if I have my consciousness on what they might be feeling and needing and my desire is to connect with them, then social situations become fun, just like they should be:)  It is also, crucial for me to remember that I can’t cause anybody to be happy or sad or mad, I can only stimulate things in them.

Well, that’s all I got for today.  If you read or listen to NVC material all that is written above will be expressed more eloquently and make more sense, I guarantee it.
