Produce Inventory - February 9th, 2009

Posted on Feb 10th, 2009 by Robby : Robby Barbaro Robby

Hey everyone,

I have created my second video.  It is an update of my first video.  I have changed the title because a “tour” is something people usually do once or a few times.  These videos are not a one time thing.  I’ll provide lots of updates.  So, the new title for these videos will be “Produce Inventory – Date” until somebody suggests a better idea.

This video also includes a tour of my refrigerator, an average dinner meal analysis, and an example of how I eat my dinner meal.

Until I make a video about RSS feeds (coming soon), I suggest checking this blog daily because this time I am going to make my food consumption screen shots again.  The reason is, so people can see how I manage all the food shown in the video.  Like, where does it all go, ya know?  This will begin tomorrow with a screen shot showing what I ate today.

There are 2 viewing options:

1.  Watch the video on this blog by clicking the Play button in the middle of the embedded video.

2.  Watch the video on the YouTube site by clicking here.

Watching the video on YouTube will allow people to see all the comments made, and my replies.  People can also see some recommended videos on the right side of the YouTube website on related topics.

I hope you enjoy it!

Hey everyone,

I have recieved some useful feedback on the new video.  Some people have expressed that it is too long.  I am always grateful for feedback.  I undrstand that in order to make comments on this blog and YouTube, people must create accounts.  So, next time I will provide my email address at the end of the video.  My email address is RobbyBarbaro@PathOfHealth.org.

I found the following quote online and I wanted to share it.

“Our worst fear is not that we are inadequate; our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God; your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God within us. It is not just in some of us, it is in everyone; and as we let our own light shine we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

-- Nelson Mandela quoting A Return to Love

I hope you all have a great day,

Food Consumption for February 11th, 2009
I pick up the book Don't Be Nice, Be Real pretty much every day.  I really enjoy reading bits and pieces over and over again!  I have a new realization each time.

Kelly Bryson's website is LanguageOfCompassion.com.  To visit the site, click here.

The home page contains pages 323-328 of the book.  There are also 2 audio interviews on the home page and many of the tabs at the top contain useful information.  I hope you all enjoy exploring the site.  It's not the most beautiful or organized website, but I still enjoyed the time I spend on it.

All my best,

Robby

What Love is Not - February 12th, 2009

Posted on Feb 13th, 2009 by Robby : Robby Barbaro Robby
Hey everyone,

I decided to use my Polar heart rate monitor to see how many calories I burned through physical activity.  I bike for transportation and I like to get places pretty quickly.  So, I spend a lot of time out of the saddle and my heart rate gets pretty high during general commuting.  I biked 12 miles yesterday, for a total of 1:45 minutes and the HR monitor said I burned 850 calories.  I bike at least 7 miles every day and usually more.

I did some sprints in the football stadium in the morning.  That took 50 min, including all the rest and burned 527 calories.  In the afternoon, I played 3 pickup basketball games which lasted 1:10 minutes and burned 673 calories.  That is a total of 2050 calories burned through physical activity.

I would like to share a poem from Kelly Bryson's book, Don't Be Nice, Be Real.  This comes from a chapter titled From Fighting Fair to Fun Fighting.  The poem is on page 123.

What Love is Not
by Kelly Bryson

Love is not saying "I love you" when your lover is thirsty;
It is giving them a drink.
Love is not hugging your sunburned lover;
It is rubbing them with lotion made of zinc.
Love is not reading her a love poem
When she is trying to go to sleep.
It is giving her your precious absence,
That shows your love runs deep.
So if you love them, you will leave them when they need to rest.
Otherwise you will become a kind of lovers' pest.
If you want to make a mess,
Always say yes.
If you want love go,
Never say no.

All my best,

Robby
